Burrell Scholarship Has Been Supporting RichmondCC Students for Over 20 Years

Gene Burrell began working for Richmond Community College in 1988 as an evening dean while also teaching history, government and geography classes. In 1991, he became executive director of the RichmondCC Foundation and served in that role for over 10 years before retiring.

Richmond Community College student Abigail Chavis of Hamlet has been accepted into C-STEP, a guaranteed admission program with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. That means she is guaranteed a spot at UNC-Chapel Hill in the fall of 2027 upon her graduation from RichmondCC in May 2027.
