Sellers Using Aspire Appalachian to Become a Mountaineer

Richmond Community College student Alyssa Sellers was recently accepted into the Aspire Appalachian Program, which means she has guaranteed admission to Appalachian State University for the 2026 fall semester.Aspire Appalachian is a seamless pathway for students enrolled at RichmondCC to complete their degree at App State. Students participating will receive dedicated advising assistance from both RichmondCC and Appalachian State University, and access to special webinars, events, and newsletters.

Learning a trade has proven to be the springboard to a successful career for two young men who graduated high school less than five years ago. Mitchell Paul of Hamlet and Bryan Stevens of Rockingham are set to graduate from the Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Technology program at Richmond Community College in May, but both have already landed high-paying jobs in the HVAC industry.

Even though the school systems are delayed, the College will open at 8 a.m. and close at 2:30 p.m. The College is closing at 5 p.m. today, Feb. 20.
